More than 100 junior wrestlers of the republic participated in a competition in Aygehovit community bordering Tavush province. The tournaments were organized in memory of the killed freedom fighters of the village.
The participants and their parents are convinced that similar competitions are a new springboard for registering republican and international records.
On the initiative and with the charity of Russia-based fellow villager Arsen Simonyan the Sports School Department of Ijevan was founded 3 years ago. And a football team has been created recently. The wrestling department works in the school gym.
The philanthropist has been the youngest soldier in the first line of defense of the village borders.
