Last year on November 21 Maidan was in restless mood. After months of protests President Yanukovic resigned. Resignation was followed by a period of inner political and security instability.
Getting orientated towards the West, Kiev signed the economic part of the so desired agreement on association with the European Union, registered territorial losses, and the country’s economy mostly collapsed.
On the President’s decree, November 21 will be hereafter marked as a state holiday. Processions and various ceremonies took place in Kiev on the occasion of the holiday. Prior to that, President Poroshenko and Prime Minister Yatsenyuk had laid flowers in memory of over 100 victims registered in consequence of clashes in Maidan.
