The poll on independence conducted in Catalonia shows that about the 80 % of the poll participants want the region to be separated from Spain.
The number of the participants has exceeded the two million. The survey did not have a legal power, but it replaced the referendum banned by the Constitutional Court of Spain.
The survey was organized by 40 thousand Catalonian volunteers without any state funding. The participants were asked two questions – do you agree that Catalonia becomes a state? If yes, do you agree that it becomes an independent state?
All residents, who are over the age 16 and who have any Catalonian settlement mentioned as a permanent place of residence in any identification document, had the right to participate in the poll. The majority of the poll participants – nearly 1 million 200 thousand people, were from Barcelona.
