The movie of the German director of Turkish origin dedicated to Armenian genocide has won great success in France.
On the eve of centenary of Armenian Genocide the film created by Turkish director has reached the big screen in Europe. The interest aroused by the movie proved that the process of international recognition and accusation of Armenian Genocide had been actively continuing.
In the new Akin’s film the French actor Tahar Rahim plays the role of an Armenian who lived in Mardin and after surviving the Armenian Genocide reached the United States to seek his two daughters who had been missed during the massacre. Italian, French, German, and Russian producers were interested in this project, and due to their joint financing “Spi” had been represented to viewers.
