The strong nationwide protests in Belgium have ended with clashes with the Police. The protest was held against the government, which intended to adopt a strict economic policy aimed at increasing the national budget. Mainly budgetary employees demonstrated.
The protest action was organized by trade unions, which brought 100-150 thousand people out for rallies and processions.
According to the latest data, 15 activists and 6 law enforcement employees were wounded in consequence of the clashes. Observers stated that this was the largest protest taken place in Belgium in the recent 8 decades.
