The Democrats have been defeated at the U.S. state elections, which were essential both for the Armenian community and our lobbyists in Washington. Specifically, legislators of Armenian descent have been re-elected. In addition, at the level of local self governing bodies Armenian political figures of the legislative body of California have registered success.
With the active support of our community in New York legislator Mike Greem has won, who is the co-chair of the Armenian National Committee from the republican wing.
Robert Dold has passed to the Congress in Illinois State. He stands up for Artsakh conflict regulation on the principle of the self-determination right of peoples. In Michigan has won Senator Gary Peters, who was supported by the local Armenian community. Two legislators of Armenian ethnicity – Anna Eshoo from California and Jackie Speier have been re-elected.
