The regular monument has been unveiled in Armenia at the threshold of the Armenian Genocide centenary. The memory of the 1, 5 million innocent victims was commemorated by the opening of the crossstone- memorial spring at the courtyard of the Church of the Holy Mother of God (St Mariam Astvatsatsin Church).
The cross-stone accurately reproduces the ornaments and figurative means of expression of one of the destroyed cross-stones of Julfa (Jugha).
The Moscow-based philanthropist and author this way symbolized the longevity of Armenian people, their history and culture.
On the same day, a number of important events took place in the city: accomplishment of the drinking water pipes renovation project, opening of a kindergarten’s sub-building, presentation of a book, opening of a gallery.
