An exhibition dedicated to People’s artist Zakar Khachatrian and his brother, People’s sculptor Artashes Hovsepian, was inaugurated at the Sisian History Museum. The Museum presents the artist brothers in the framework of the annual “Cross-Roads of the Generations” event.
The famed painter in his 90 came from Russia’s northern capital to participate in the gallery opening. It was his wish to see his paternal home as his house-museum, with his paintings presented. Years ago he opened his studio and school in that house teaching art of painting to young people of Sisian there.
The head of the Union of the Syunik Painters believes it is an honour to be the contemporary of the talented brothers. While looking at Zakar Khachatrian’s paintings he hears the sound of duduk, transfers himself to the roots of his nation.
