David Rabkievyan’s surname, a violin maker from one of the Maryland villages, is the most weird ones with Armenian “yan” ending. There is no Rabkievyan Armenian family in the world. The Rabkievic have moved to US from Poland long ago.
David married an Armenian years ago and transformed his surname, Armenianizing it with “yan” particle. He makes violins in his house basement and loves giving them names. One of them earned the Armenian “Anush Garun” (“Sweet Spring”).
You can find many stories like this, when the foreigners changed their surnames and even their national way of thinking for various reasons. So, there are a lot of “Armenians” living in different parts of the world.
