Cities with large Armenian population in various countries of the world prepare for the 100th anniversary of the Genocide commemoration. Different commemoration events are planned by our compatriots in Saint Petersburg, as well.
The list of the commemoration concerts was replenished with a new one. “Acclaimed Voices of Armenia” concert, as a part of the cycle, was held at the grand concert hall of the academic philharmonic society after Shostakovich.
Anahit Mkhitaryan, Christine Sahakyan, Perch Qarazyan and Hovhannes Nersesyan, the soloists of the Armenia’s Opera and Ballet Theatre, performed at the philharmonic stage of Petersburg.
As a part of the events an Armenian cross-stone was erected in central park of the Vasileostrovskiy region of Saint Petersburg. The park itself will soon be renamed after Yerevan, and the statue of Komitas will appear next to the cross-stone next year.
