Fresno hosted the office opening ceremony of the first Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in the United States. The US Armenian community and the Honorary Consul were congratulated by the US federal and state officials, representatives of the NKR, guests from the community bodies, clergymen.
Newly appointed Honorary Council Berj Apkarian expressed his confidence on the Office to contribute to the cultural and business activation between Fresno and Armenia.
Around 50.000 Armenians live in Fresno. The community here is the third biggest after LA on the Western Coast. It was established in 19th century. The representative body for the Republic of Armenia, they assess, will be a new body to unite the Armenians.
