A christening ceremony for 10 kids, at a time, was performed at a newly built church in Kirants community of Tavush Region. Ijevan Military Police is behind this interesting initiative. The policemen took the high responsibility of becoming the god-fathers for the christened children.
Bishop Simeon Araqelyan, the spiritual leader of Ijevan region explained the sacrament of the christening, the responsibility of the ties between the godfather and his godchild. The upbringing of the children is not only the duty of the school and teachers, and the military policemen are happy to be part of the process.
