Developments in Kobane, Syria are the focus for the international community for the recent days. The city has become a “bone of contention” between the Kurds and the Islamists. Now the Kurdish forces and the troops of the Kurdish People Defense, the most authoritative in Syria, have de facto become a part of the international coalition, Turkologist Levon Hovsepyan says.
He believes it is an important factor, as the Kurds are going to formulate their claims from the international community in return. Kobane which had been a major military and humanitarian issue for the Kurds may further become a basis for the Kurdish demands.
