Last week, Armenia was among the participants of the 66th international book exhibition and fair of “Buchmesse.” Every year the fair brings together over 7.000 publishing houses from over 100 countries. As well as, thousands of visitors, experts from the fields of literature and book-publishing.
Armenia has been a participant of this unique exhibition since the early years of its independence. And starting from 2005 Armenia regularly and annually presents itself to the European public bringing the modern Armenian writing and major publishing houses to the focus on a decent level.
The presentation of “Mandilion”, a novel by Vahan Hovhannisyan, Armenia’s ambassador to Germany, was held at the exhibition, in three languages it had been translated into. Also Susanna Sargsyan’s “Culinary Traveling through Armenia” book in German on the Armenian cuisine was presented there.
In accordance with the exhibition principles, “Antares”, “Zangak” publishing houses and the Yerevan State University publishing house, representing Armenia, reached efficient agreements with international bodies like this one.
