For the first time a wine festival is organized in the NKR. The venue for the festival was the palace of Melik Egan in Togh village of meliks (Armenian Rulers of Karabakh), Hadrut region of the NKR. The organizers say the palace was not chosen just occasionally.
The residence of Melik Egan of Dizak is one of the rare and gorgeous historical and cultural sites, which lacks attention. The NKR government funds the reconstruction work in the site. After the work is completed the site is expected to become one of the most interesting destinations of Artsakh (NKR.)
So, in this very historical site the pan-national celebration was held, with the participation of the Artsakh head. Tasting of Artsakh wine, national songs and dances, delicious dishes from the Artsakh cuisine, treatment with Jengyalov Hats (herbs in bread), a national specialty. As the tradition has it the wine festival kicked off with grape stomping.
