Armenia’s President and the President of the Chess Federation, Serzh Sargsyan took part in the opening of “Chess in Schools” International Conference, October 16 - 18.
Over 180 chess figures and experts from 30 countries participate in the conference. Armenia’s example positively influences the development of the youth chess all over the world, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, the FIDE President says.
Russia’s Chess Federation Council member Amir Gilyazev says that in our country chess enjoys wide popularity and Armenia is one of the strongest competitors in this wise game.The chess day was continued at the newly opened chess school, in Malatia – Sebastia with charge free education for 350 children aged 5 - 8.
