On October 15, the first event dedicated to the NKR independence was held at the European Parliament premises. This was realized by Eleni Teokharus, President of the EU – Armenia Friendship Group, with support by the Armenian Embassy to Belgium, Armenian National Committee in Europe and “European Friends of Armenia” organization.
The event was attended by Ashot Ghulyan, the NKR NA Chairman, currently on his working visit to Begium, Tatul Margaryan, Armenia’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Belgium and head of the Armenian Mission at the EU, Artak Zakaryan, Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, officers in charge from the international and communal significance in Brussels, representatives of the NGOs.
The NKR NA Chairman Ashot Ghulyan presented their achievements and current problems since the independence to the participants. As well as the efforts made for peaceful regulation of the conflict and the opportunities of cooperation with the European institutions.
Frank Engel, an EU Parliament deputy, declared a group of friendship with the NKR is formed currently.
