The formation of the Eurasian Economic Union was a process spinning for two decades. The continuation of the economic ties after the USSR collapse was of vital importance for the post-Soviet countries. It all started from the CIS, in 1991.
Body’s efficiency was ultimately poor. This made the member states pursue other formats. In 1999, several post-Soviet countries shaped the Customs Union and Free Trade Zone. This was also a problematic solution. A year later “Evrazes” was offered, Armenia was a monitoring member to that body. Later one changes occurred on the status.
Since 2011 the Customs Union has been fully active, later on it was the basis for the Eurasian Economic Union designated to function since 2015.It was not an easy way to go, but our country overcame it, also with the help of the partner countries.
