In Tavshut, the locals, descendents of Armenians from Mush, Karin, Alashkert resettled in Shirak Basin, celebrated the 90th anniversary of the village foundation, with national songs, dances and cuisine. At the same time they expressed their gratitude to those 23 countries which officially recognized the Armenian Genocide.
In the run-up to the centenary of the Genocide the residents of Tavshut think it is necessary to remind Turkey that the Armenians are always, even now, ready to counter the perpetrators of the Armenian Genocide accordingly.
In Uruguay, Germany, the Netherlands and some other countries acknowledging the fact of the Armenian Genocide they might not know yet that in a far-away Armenian village the people raised the flags of those countries, with great festivity and gratitude.
The village celebration brought together Tavshut-born people from elsewhere, as well.
