Starting from protection of the territories and estate belonging to the Armenian Church to promotion of the mutually beneficial cooperation – during the official visit in Georgia the NA chairman had high-level meetings with the secular and religious elites of Georgia.
The NA Chairman drew the attention of the Georgian side to the issues of protecting the Armenian cultural heritage in Georgia, and, in particular, he stressed the necessity of urgent initiatives for renovation and protection of the Mughnetsots St George, St Nshan, and St Norashen churches.
Chairman Sahakyan touched upon another issue, the complaints over Georgian border guards prohibiting Armenians to enter Georgia from the border check-points.
Galust Sahakyan invited his Georgian counterpart to visit Armenia in 2015 to participate in the events of the centenary of the Armenian Genocide.
