The latest try to bring the youth closer to the books through stressing the “fashionability” of the process of reading, was a success. It is funny to read books for them being “fashionabe”, but any method is good to spread book-reading.
That is what the Facebook flashmob is after. Challenging each other the young people share their preferences on the books, lists of masterpieces of the world literature worth reading is revealed for them.
Kafka, Salinger, Coelho, Saroyan, Bulgakov – according to the FB flashmob they are the most read authors. A Facebook user mentions 10 books with great impact on him, then the other user is challenged. This is how the FB flashmob has gone viral, involving hundreds of users.
But the lists from Facebook show they are Google-based by many. As found out in Yerevan bookstores, the most read authors in FB are not from here.
