They need us caring not just for this only day in the year, but the whole year long.
Nothing is better for the elderly with the load of the years they passed, than a call or a visit by their grandchildren or off-springs. They wish nothing more. They are so ready to bless us and wish all the best for that.
The lonely elderly of Kapan, as usual, spent their International Day of the Elderly at the charity diner by “Mission Armenia” Organization. They had a cake on this occasion.
Granddad Kolya, 85, from Kapan has been telling about the greetings from his children. His daughter called from Russia, and the son is visiting him tonight with his wife. He says it was his choice to spend this part of his life in solitude.
He is lonely, but feels no lack of care. The children failed in trying to move him to their places.
The Diner by “Mission Armenia” has been the friend to socially vulnerable, lonely elderly in need for 14 years. The Diner will grow larger if new supporters are found, and express readiness to fund them.
