7 years ago only one Caucasian leopard with spots in Armenia could be discussed, now the experts of the WWF pursuing their efforts, speak about 4 or 5 of them.
Huge technical and material means were involved to find the leopards, from professional cameras to the environmentalists endangering their own lives.
WWF Armenian Office operates now for 12 years, during which they renovated and strengthened the Armenian reserves, national parks. The head of the office managed to create newly protected areas in the south of the country. They are considered habitats for the Caucasian Leopard on the verge of extinction. Now they are safe for the prey to breed.
Every corner of the WWF Armenia remind us of the most important mission of the humans , which is to protect the diverse fauna.
By the way, since October 4,1931, this date is considered the international day for animals’ protection. On this occasion the Armenian reader is presented with “Price of Silence” book, telling us about the adventures of the author in the Armenian fauna world.
