An Artsakh liberation war partcipant soldier initiated bust inauguration for his commander, Vazgen Ghavalyan, in the latter's birtday and commemoration day in a Berd square. The square is going to further be named after Ghavalyan.
The event brought together not only the late Ghavalyan's friends and family, but also high-ranking military servicemen.
Major General Andranik Makaryan, the 4th corps commander in RA Ministry of Defence, says while making the bust of the general his wound from one of the bordeline intense battles was considered. Till the end of his life he carried a piece of a shell, that hit them, in his head.
The military man who passed his way from Austria to Sakhalin, received two "Red Stars" as an officer and was an excellent gunner used to teach the youth in Yerevan, sharing his knowledge and experience.
