The explosion of the Saint Martyrs’ Church in Deir ez-Zor was another evidence that terrorism knows no state, no nation, no religion, and no any other value. The Islamists committing medieval atrocities in Syria and Iraq have already managed to become a prime challenge for the World. Though the newly created coalition continues their airstrikes on ISIS, it is obvious that terrorism, in general, requires more serious efforts to be fought.
In September, the US-led coalition with some of the Arab states was formed to fight the terrorist group. The memorandum was not endorsed by Ankara supporting various terrorist groups morally and financially, as well as with military hardware. Another striking demonstration for that was the unbanned entrance of the terrorists in Armenian populated Kessab in Syria from the Turkish territory in March, 2014.
