The speech by Armenia’s President at the UN General Assembly remains the focus for the experts following the international, and especially the regional developments.
The key points of the President’s speech were the international recognition imperative of the Armenian Genocide and the peaceful regulation of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
In the row of the other important topics, Serzh Sargsyan pointed out that Armenia has never made the recognition of the Armenian Genocide a precondition in regulating the Armenian – Turkish relations. The Head of the State says official Yerevan might recall the Armenian – Turkish protocols, as the homeland is something sacred for the Armenians and it can not be an object for trading.
During his visit to the US the President attended the authoritative Columbia University. In his speech Serzh Sargsyan attributed importance to the founding of “Luys” Foundation, which supports the Armenian youth to study at top universities of the world, including Columbia University.
