Sargis Movsisyan is a new name in the list of the 6 Mayisian liberators martyred during the Artsakh War for the right to exist.
The name of the draftee was engraved on the memorial towering over Park of Liberation War. The Mayisyans do their best to keep the sacred site full of fresh flowers.
The wound of losing Sargis is still unhealed in Mayisyan village. No matter what they do it still seems to be not enough for the sake of the young man who sacrificed his life on the altar of the patriotism. The compatriots make songs and verses for him, organize events of remembrance. They recently named a classroom in the local school after him. The compatriots mourn his loss, but they are also proud of his bravery, his deed and self-sacrifice story.
At school they remember what he said before leaving for military service, when he came to say goodbye to his teachers. He just asked them to count him as present. He was almost the age of the Armenian independence.
