On the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of Armenia’s Independence some representatives of the science, economics, healthcare, culture fields, as well as people from the Diaspora, servicemen from the judicial system, Armenian Army, national security service, and police were awarded with the highest state honours with the Presidential decrees. Honorary ranks were conferred. At the President’s residence during the awarding ceremony Serzh Sargsyan gave the awards. Among them, for the first time, were medals and orders envisaged by the new “Law on the State Honours and Honorary Titles.”
New honours, in addition to the older high ones, included “The Medal of Gratitude”, “For Labour Achievements”, “For the Service to the Motherland”, “The Medal for Parental Glory” and order of “Friendship.”
