During his official visit in Holy See the President of the RA, Serzh Sargsyan attended the Vatican Museums, where he participated in opening and permanent exhibition of a medieval Armenian cross-stone. The cross-stone dating back to1246, was displayed at the Pope Urban VIII Gallery in Vatican Museums, just next to the famed Sistine Chapel.
Sargsyan visited the exhibition room for the medieval Armenian cross-stone. It had been discovered in 17c, near the Saint Peter’s Square in Venice.
Thus the medieval Armenian masterpiece found its permanent home in Vatican.
Later on tens of thousands of visitors will have the chance to see it there.
