What the Scots got instead of the independence were tensions and troubles.
Thanks to the police intervention the simultaneous gathering of the opponents and the proponents of the independence at George Square, Glasgow, did not turn into serious skirmishes.
Those who are for the Independence were unhappy with the immigrants granted eligibility in referendum. The police had to build up a live shield between the “camps” only after they were engaged in verbal jousting and collided. Both of the parties held their referenda at George Square for the last two days. Horse-mounted police were sent there.
In the evening, the parties started letting off flares.
