The Musical Comedy Theatre after Hakob Paronyan announced the 72th season quite in an original way. This is a rare coincidence. Paronyan artists dedicated the opening of the theatrical season to their much-credited maestro. The 85th birthday and 60th professional activity anniversaries of the Theatre’s musical director and chief conductor were a big celebration.
Yuri Davtyan is one of the last people to have Constantin Sarajev as his teacher. He dedicated all his life to “preaching” national classical music. Some 6 decades ago Michael Tavrizyan entrusted the conductor's stand to him. Thus the Yerevan Opera theatre and the musical arts gained a new devotee for themselves.
Now, when Davtyan has headed the best repertoires in Armenian opera art and taught dozens of talented musicians, he is back to home-theatre, which he has been loving since his youth.
