Today, the 5th Ecclesiastical Representatives’ Assembly started at Mother Seat of Holy Etchmiadzin under the high chairmanship of the Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II. The representatives of the Jerusalem and Istanbul Patriarchates, the delegates of the Patriarchal delegations, leaders of the dioceses from Armenia and Diaspora, secular delegates, bishops from different institutions of the Armenian Church, members of the Highest Spiritual Council came together.
The Assembly started with the Lord’s Prayer. Archbishop Hovnan Terteryan, leader of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church in the US, Member of the Highest Spiritual Council, took on the opening speech. He scrupulously touched upon the importance of work by the ecclesiastical assembly of the representatives.
Then the Catholicos addressed to over 140 delegates participating in the Assembly.
