Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan took part in the festive ceremony of handing the international scientific awards after the National Hero, Academician Victor Hambardzumyan, at the Academy of Sciences.
Lincei National Academy, Italy, had nominated Felix Aharonyan for his considerable contribution in the sphere of high energy astrophysics space speedometer research and his leading role in developing the system of Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov Telescopes.
The Special Astrophysical Observatory, Russia, had nominated Igor Karachentsev and Blet Tali for fundamental investments in local space research. The awards were bestowed by the Head of the State. Each of the recipients will be granted $ 500.000.
