The initiation ceremony for Levon Zekiyan, supreme doctor of the Armenian church, as the leader and archbishop of the catholic community in Turkey was just held at Istanbul St. Saviour church.
Those who were present say that the newly initiated leader of the catholic community, who was born and grew up in Istanbul knows what to further do very well. Many know about the pro-Armenian activity of His Holiness still from the times he was a teacher at Mekhitarist Fathers School.
The initiation of the leader brought together not only the secular members of the community, but also the representatives of other branches of the Christian Faith in Istanbul.
Archbishop Levon Zekiyan received congratulation from the Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II.
