The 90th anniversary of the “patriarch” of the Armenian film and theatre, Yervand Manaryan, was celebrated at the Institute of Literature and Arts. Thus with this celebration the series of events dedicated to the beloved artist will start. His brilliant roles in cinema, he as a long-time contributor of the puppet show will be remembered.
The films like “Tjvjik” by Atrpet, “Karine” by Chukhajian were based on his scripts. Yervand Manaryan was always an example and teacher even for those who were not lucky enough to be among his immediate students.
Rouben Babayan, the artistic director of the H. Toumanyan State Puppet Theatre, says that the elegant, noble look of the master was the focus of all the Theatre Institute when he was a student. The eternal motivation for creation used to always lead him to seek and make out what was new.
