Armenia’s President Serzh Sarsyan welcomed Austria’s Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz’ visit to our country, underscoring that it was his great pleasure to receive the delegation from Austria, a friendly country to Armenia. This, according to the President, was a good opportunity to recall his earlier official visit to Austria, in June. The President asked Austria’s FM to convey his regards to Heinz Fischer, the President of Austria, with whom he had had very efficient and constructive dialogue back in June.
Serzh Sargsyan expressed his hope that the Austrain FM would manage to have efficient discussions within the framework of his tight schedule and that would have positive effects on bilateral cooperation development resulting in a new impulse in Armenian – Austrian relations. FM Kurz noted that Austria is interested in developing its relations with Armenia in not only political, but many other fields, and especially in economical cooperation.
Serzh Sargsyan thanked the authorities and people of Austria for caring for the Armenian cultural and spiritual heritage, The Mekhitarists, and thus making Vienna one of the known centres of Armenian Studies. The parties expressed their satisfaction upon the Armenian – Austrian collaboration within the international institutions, touched upon regional issues, the current stage of NKR peaceful regulation and its prospects.
